Scott A. Hefner

Originally from Hickory, North Carolina, Scott attended North Carolina State University where he graduated first in his class in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.  In 2008, he graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law.  While in law school, Scott served as a staff member and editor on the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal, was a member of the North Carolina Banking Institute Board of Advisors, and served on the Dean’s Advisory Counsel.

Following law school, Scott clerked for the Honorable Ben F. Tennille of the North Carolina Business Court.  As a clerk on the Business Court, Scott learned the intricacies of complex commercial litigation disputes at the trial court level.  Following his clerkship, Scott spent five years at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP where he practiced in the area of professional liability.  Scott has experience representing clients at trial, at the appellate level, and before regulatory and licensing boards.

In 2014, Scott joined Erwin, Bishop, Capitano & Moss, where he focuses his practice on commercial and construction litigation.  Scott is a 2015 member of the Mecklenburg County Bar's "Bar Leadership Institute."  Scott is involved in the Charlotte community and an active member of St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church.
